Estava Rain Make Your Move

  • It all started back in 2010, when I had my very first encounter with an American Akita. We had arrived for dinner at a friend’s house, and the moment I stepped into the kitchen my eyes were drawn to a large, graceful dog lying quietly by his owner’s side. There was something majestic about him – powerful in presence, yet calm and dignified. His owner began telling me about the breed and its typical traits. What struck me most was how deeply this male was bonded to his owner, showing little interest in anyone else who came through the door. Coming from many years of experience with the American Staffordshire Terrier, a breed with an opposite mentality and endless curiosity toward strangers, I was fascinated. That evening I told myself: one day, I will own an American Akita.

    It would take years before I got close to the breed again. In 2016, at the European Dog Show in Brussels, I had the chance to meet Jeremy Tourlouse of Angels Of Paradise Kennel – someone we already knew, as he too was breeding American Akitas. That day he introduced me to Multi CH Infernal Warrior Just For Angels Of Paradise, and it reignited the spark.

    From there, my journey led me to Norway and to Friedrich Birkmar of Estava Rain American Akitas. After many conversations, studying pedigrees and learning more about the breed, I knew this was the right place to take the next step. Friedrich had built a reputation for breeding dogs with sound mentality, friendly temperaments, and excellent type – exactly what we were looking for in our first American Akita.

    In 2020, after years of waiting and preparation, we finally welcomed Estava Rain Make Your Move – “Severus” into our home. From the first day, he proved to be everything we had hoped for: calm, stable, and endlessly loving. He truly adores everyone – dogs, people, and children alike. We could not have asked for a more solid foundation for our journey with the breed.

    I am deeply grateful to Friedrich for entrusting us with Severus and for introducing us to the breed in the very best way. Severus is one of a kind – not only does he carry a fantastic character, but his presence turns heads wherever we go. It’s rare to make it more than a few steps on a walk before someone stops to admire his beauty and ask about him.

    Severus’ story is also a story of legacy. He is the son of two extraordinary Akitas: Estava Rain Hold The News, a trailblazing sire who became the first non-UK/US bred Akita to earn a GB Champion title, and Estava Rain Looking For Action, a female whose show record stretches across Europe and the US, with countless wins and accolades to her name. Together, they represent some of the very best the breed has to offer – and Severus proudly carries their legacy forward.

    About Severus’ Parents;

    Severus comes from a truly remarkable pedigree, carrying the legacy of two outstanding American Akitas from Estava Rain.

    His sire, Estava Rain Hold The News, is a dog who made history in the breed. Born in 2011, he holds titles such as GB Champion, International Champion, Nordic Champion, DW-12, and NW-13, with hips graded A and clear eyes. In 2014, he was recognized as the Top Stud Dog in the UK, and was the first non-UK/US bred Akita to ever become a GB Champion. His show career is full of highlights: BOB and Group-2 at Paignton Champ. Show UK 2012, BOB and Group-3 at Bournemouth Champ. Show UK 2012, achieving his GB Champion title in just three straight shows, and BIS placements at international shows. A male that has left his mark both in the ring and in breeding.

    His dam, Estava Rain Looking For Action, born in 2014, is just as impressive. She is a Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and American Champion, with titles including FJW-15, HelW-15, HelJW-15, NJW-15, and multiple Nordic and Norwegian Winner titles from 2015 through 2018. With hips graded A, she has proven herself both in type and health. Her achievements include Best of Breed, CC & Group-3 at The Scottish Kennel Club show in 2018, being ranked Nr. 5 All Breeds in Norway in 2017, and earning Top Dog in Group 5 the same year. She has collected countless specialty and international wins, among them Best in Show at NKK Int. Lillehammer 2017, Specialty Best in Show Norway 2017, and multiple CRUFTS Reserve CCs (2016 and 2018). Even as a youngster she stood out, with several Best in Show Puppy wins in Sweden, and in 2015 at the Akita Club of America National Specialty she went Reserve Winners Bitch and Best Bred By Exhibitor in Show. In total, she boasts around 20 breed wins, 15 CACs, 16 CACIBs, and group placements at international level.

    Together, Severus’ parents bring forward a combination of beauty, mentality, and achievement that reflects the very best of the breed – and Severus carries that legacy proudly.
