Welcome Back
Welcome everyone!
Cromulent Kennel is back after several years of absence. Life brought both challenges and setbacks connected to the dogs, which meant we had to pause our breeding plans for a while.
During this time, Zetina (Old Parry's Madly In Love) was retired from any future breeding plans. Unfortunately, we had two unsuccessful attempts with her. The first was thanks to Sandy Underwood at R-U Kennel in the USA, who made it possible to use her male CH R-U Jumpin' Joe. That breeding was carried out through artificial insemination with semen preserved for nearly 30 years. Sadly, it was not successful.
A second attempt was later made through natural breeding, this time traveling to Spain to use INT. Multi CH Genius Ast Injection. Like the first, this attempt was also unsuccessful. A third attempt in Sweden could have been considered, but at that time there were no males we felt truly matched our vision. For us, being involved with the breed has always meant never compromising on our ideals. If we were to wait more than 10 years to produce a litter, we wanted to make sure it would be a quality one—fully aligned with our philosophy.
Over the years, we have also admired the American Akita. After patiently waiting, we finally had the chance to bring home a male from Estava Rain Kennel in Norway. Our intention was never to breed Akitas, but simply to welcome a high-quality family dog.
Now, almost five years later, Severus continues to brighten our days—he is truly everything we hoped for.
During this period, we also had the honor of welcoming a new female from Old Parry's Kennel: Luna (Old Parry's True Pecan Lady). She represents our hopes for the future. Her health tests will be completed shortly, and if all goes well, the plan is to breed her next spring. The sire will remain a surprise until we are certain of a successful outcome.
Another exciting update is that we will also be co-breeding a litter using frozen semen from CH Pacific Northern Phantom (“Chopper”). Born in 1996, Chopper was never bred to a pure Ruffian female during his lifetime. We are the only breeder in Europe to own semen from this male, which has been in our possession since 2014. Instead of holding on to such valuable semen without having a suitable female of our own, we chose to contribute to the Ruffian line by partnering with a breeder who could provide a female that meets the same criteria we have always envisioned.
As co-breeders, we will not be sharing further details at this time. The main breeder will officially announce the litter once pregnancy has been confirmed by ultrasound.
Lastly, our homepage is still under construction—so please bear with us as we continue updating it.
